The Straits Times 179th Anniversary Campaign Lucky Draw (“Lucky Draw”)

TERMS & CONDITIONS

 General

1. The Straits Times 179th Anniversary Campaign ("Campaign") is organised by SPH Media Limited. The Campaign will take place from 4 July 2024 to  31 July 2024, 11:59pm ("Campaign Period").
   
2. Participation in the Lucky Draw is subject to:

1. these terms and conditions herein (“Specific T&Cs”); and
2. the Contests & Lucky Draw Terms and Conditions available at https://www.sph.com.sg/tnc/contests_luckydraws/ 

(collectively, "T&Cs").

In the event of any inconsistency between the two sets of T&Cs, the Specific T&Cs shall prevail.

3. By participating in the Lucky Draw, you agree to be bound by and to comply with the T&Cs, including any amendments, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Our decision on all aspects of the Lucky Draw shall be final and no verbal or written correspondence, including but not limited to enquiries and appeals, will be entertained.
4. Non-compliance with or breach of any of the T&Cs may disqualify a participant from the Lucky Draw, and any prizes won may be forfeited, withheld, withdrawn or reclaimed.

How to Participate

1. To qualify for the Lucky Draw, you must:

1. access the Straits Times 179th Anniversary Campaign Lucky Draw site at https://contest.sph.com.sg/campaigns/st179-giveaway/ and participate in the quiz on the Lucky Draw Form (“Quiz”);
2. submit your answer to the Quiz and the requested details on the Lucky Draw Form before 31 July 2024, 11.59 pm.

2. Details of the Lucky Draw and prizes are set out below.

3. Only entries with correct submission details will qualify. We have the sole and absolute discretion in determining whether the answer(s) you submitted are correct or accurate.

4. Successful submission of the Lucky Draw Form, along with answering the Quiz question correctly will automatically qualify you for one entry into the Lucky Draw.

5. Winners will be picked at random and will be notified via e-mail by 11 August.

6. We reserve the rights to cancel the Lucky Draw in the event that there are no accurate submissions submitted, as determined by us.

Eligibility and Restrictions

1. The Lucky Draw is only open to:

1. subscribers of The Straits Times who are subscribed directly with us; and
2. Singapore citizens, permanent residents, and foreigners with employment or work passes, aged 18 and above.

2. Employees, appointed printers, retailers, wholesalers, affiliates of SPH Media Limited and their respective family members are not eligible to participate.
   
3. You affirm the accuracy of all the information you provide to us throughout your participation in the Lucky Draw, and we have the right to determine, in our sole and absolute discretion, your eligibility to participate in the Lucky Draw.
   

4. If any point in time, whether or not during the Campaign Period, we determine that you have breached the T&Cs, that you have provided us with false information, or that you do not meet the eligibility criteria for the Lucky Draw, we may disqualify you from the Lucky Draw, and forfeit, withhold, reclaim, or recover from you any prizes won through the Lucky Draw (or the value of such prizes won).

Prize collection and conditions

1. Prizes are to be collected from SPH Media; 1000 Toa Payoh North, News Centre, Singapore 318994 or such other locations as we may notify.

2. At the point of prize collection, we may require you to produce a photo ID for identification, and sign a written statement confirming your eligibility.

3. Prizes must be collected within the specified prize collection period, failing which your claim to the prize will become invalid. No extensions of prize collection deadline will be entertained, and we may deal with all unclaimed prizes in any manner we deem fit.

4. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and non-cash prizes cannot be exchanged for cash.

5. We accept no responsibility for any tax or other liability that may arise from the prize winnings.

6. Prizes are subject to availability, and we may substitute, withdraw, add to, or alter any of the prizes without notice to you.

Miscellaneous

1. The Lucky Draw will be conducted electronically at our SPH Media office.

2. We reserve the right to cancel any part of the Lucky Draw if there are no entries. If the number of prizes exceeds the number of entries or any prizes remain unclaimed by the end of the Campaign Period, we may in our sole discretion, determine the use of the remaining prizes.

3. By participating in the Lucky Draw, you agree that:

1. any and all personal data you submit may be collected, used, processed and/or disclosed by (i) us, our related corporations and our affiliates (collectively "SPH Media Group") and (ii) the Lucky Draw sponsor(s), for various purposes including to communicate with you for purposes related to the Lucky Draw, to provide goods and services to you upon request, to send you marketing information on products and services offered by the SPH Media Group or other parties, and such other purposes SPH Media Group may reasonably deem appropriate, or for such purposes that the you may have otherwise given your consent to SPH Media Group.
2. SPH Media Group may collect, use, disclose and share amongst themselves and their respective service providers and the Lucky Draw sponsor(s), your personal data, including the photographs or audio-video or other recordings of you ("Material") for publicity and/or use in advertisements across all media, including, without limitation, in SPH Media Group's publications, presentations, promotional materials on their websites, in its original or edited format, and whether to promote the Lucky Draw or otherwise without further notification, remuneration or compensation; and
3. the copyright and all other intellectual property rights in and to all Material shall vest solely and absolutely in us without further compensation.

4. You shall not, without our prior written approval, speak to the press or any other media nor give any interviews or comments relating to the Lucky Draw.

5. We accept no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault of any kind, including technical malfunctions, computer hardware or software failures, and satellite, network or server failures.

6. The prizes are manufactured or provided by a third party. Any dispute about the quality, condition, or redemption of the prizes (including warranty claims, if any) is to be resolved directly with the third party and we are not obliged to assist or act on your behalf in communicating with them.
   
7. SPH Media Limited is only responsible for the facilitation of this Lucky Draw and the distribution of the prizes. Do note that Prizes provided by ASA Holidays, are subject to ASA Holidays' own terms and conditions regarding the usage of the return air tickets. SPH Media Limited shall not be held liable for any issues, disputes, or claims arising from or related to the use of the air tickets provided by ASA Holidays.

7. Neither we nor any companies within the SPH Media Group shall be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss), damage, personal injury or death in connection with the Lucky Draw, or any prize, except any liability that cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law). Except to the extent that they may not be excluded by law, no representations, warranties, terms or conditions that are not expressly stated in these terms and conditions apply to this Lucky Draw nor in respect of the prizes and all implied warranties are excluded, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of satisfactory quality, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose of any of the prizes.

8. We have the right to vary or amend the terms and conditions of the Lucky Draw by posting such amendments on our website(s).

9. In the event of any discrepancy in details of the dates set out in the print newspaper and the website, the dates on the website shall prevail.

10. The Lucky Draw and these T&Cs will be governed by Singapore law, and any disputes will be referred to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore Courts.
