THE BUSINESS TIMES NEWS TABLET TOP UP PROMOTION TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Participation in this subscription promotion is subject to the terms herein (the “Secondary Package T&Cs”), the Standard Subscription Terms and Conditions available at https://subscribe.sph.com.sg/terms-and-conditions/ (the “General T&Cs”) and the News Tablet Contract Subscription Terms and Conditions (the “News Tablet Package T&Cs”). In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the Secondary Package T&Cs, the General T&Cs and the News Tablet Package T&Cs in respect of the Secondary Package, the following descending order of precedence will apply: (i) the Secondary Package T&Cs, (ii) the News Tablet Package T&Cs, and (iii) the General T&Cs.

2. Under this promotion, a person who subscribes for or, has an existing subscription to any News Tablet Package with the exception of existing Business Time News Tablet subscribers (the “Primary Package”) may elect to purchase an add-on subscription to The Business Times News Tablet Package (the “Secondary Package”) at the Promotional Price (as defined below). This promotion is valid during the period commencing from 1 December 2021 to 31 December 2021 (both dates inclusive)  (the “Promotion Period”), subject to the terms and conditions set out herein. This promotion is not valid with other promotions and bundle deals.

3. Eligibility

3.1 Only persons who subscribe for, or have an existing subscription to, the Primary Package with the exception of existing Business Times News Tablet subscribers, may purchase an add-on subscription to the Secondary Package. To participate in this promotion, you must:

(a) Take up a new subscription for or, have an existing subscription to, the Primary Package;

(b) Agree to maintain your subscription for the Primary Package without any change to the subscription package for the entire duration of the minimum subscription period under the Primary Package;

(c) Indicate that you elect to add on the Secondary Package(s); and

(d) Your duly completed application form for the subscription to the Secondary Package(s) must be received by SPH Media Limited during the Promotion Period.

3.2 Requests for extensions of the Promotion Period will not be entertained and applications for subscriptions received by SPH Media Limited after the Promotion Period will not qualify.

3.3 SPH Media Limited has the right to determine your eligibility for this promotion at its sole and absolute discretion and its decision thereon shall be final and binding.

4. Fees involved

Subscribers who purchase a Secondary Package under this promotion will have to top-up S$5.00 per month (“Promotional Price”) for the Secondary Package. For the avoidance of doubt, the monthly subscription fee for the Secondary Package is in addition to the fees payable in connection with the subscription to the Primary Package under the News Tablet Package T&Cs. Subscribers who purchase a Secondary Package will not be getting an additional tablet device as a result of the subscription.

5. If, at the point of submission of the subscription application for the Primary Package, you elect to add on the Secondary Package, your subscription to the Secondary Package will commence on or around the same time as your subscription to the Primary Package. However, if you elect to add on the Secondary Package to an existing Primary Package, your subscription to the Secondary Package will commence on or around 2 working days after your application for the subscription to the Secondary Package is received by SPH Media Limited.

6. If you terminate your Primary Package (for any reason whatsoever) but choose to retain the Secondary Package, you will no longer be entitled to the Promotional Price for the Secondary Package and you will be required to pay the prevailing monthly subscription rate for the Secondary Package, which will continue until terminated. You may terminate your subscription to the Secondary Package at any time by calling in to our Customer Service Hotline. Once you terminate your subscription for the Secondary Package, you will no longer be entitled to the promotional price for the Secondary package under this promotion. Unless we receive your notification to terminate your subscription to the Secondary Package before the 26th of the month, you authorise us to charge you the subscription fees in respect of the Secondary Package(s) for the next month. This means that if we receive your notification to terminate your subscription to the Secondary Package before the 26th of a month, you will continue to have access to the package through to the end of the same month and your subscription to the Secondary Package will terminate thereafter. However, if we receive your notification to terminate your subscription to the Secondary Package on or after the 26th of a month, you will continue to subscribe and have access to the package through to the end of the next month and your subscription to the Secondary Package will only terminate thereafter.

7. By subscribing for the Secondary Package, you consent and agree that SPH Media Limited and its related corporations shall have the right to manage features of the KNOX programme embedded within the Samsung News Tablet Device (“Device”) that you received in respect of the Primary Package, which includes, but is not limited to, the ability to (a) make modifications and changes remotely to the configuration, deployment and management of the Device’s interface, graphics, audio clips, editorial content, images and/or videos, and the scripts and software used to implement the KNOX programme; (b) remotely install applications (including applications from SPH Media Limited and its related corporations and/or other third parties) on the Device; (c) make modifications and changes remotely to the wallpaper and lock screen image of the Device; and (d) send you advertisements, marketing information and other communications through alerts, push notifications or in any other form or media on your Device.

8. By subscribing for the Secondary Package, you agree and consent to SPH Media Limited and its related corporations collecting, using and disclosing diagnostic, technical, usage and other related data or information, including, but not limited to, unique system or hardware identifiers and information about your Device that is gathered periodically in an anonymised form in order to improve SPH Media Limited’s products and services, facilitate the provision of software updates, product support and for the purposes set out in the SPH Privacy Policy.

9. The Promotional Price for the Secondary Package will be discontinued after 30 June 2024. Effective from 1 July 2024: (i) the subscription fee for the Secondary Package will be automatically adjusted to the prevailing rate, which is currently set at $29.90 per month, and (ii) your subscription to the Secondary Package will automatically continue, and you will be billed for your subscription to the Secondary Package at such prevailing rate until terminated.

10. SPH Media Limited  may, at its sole and absolute discretion, vary, amend or revise the Secondary Package T&Cs (including, without limitation, the Promotional Price) and/or terminate or withdraw this promotion at any time without prior notice.
