- Participation in this subscription promotion ("Promotion") is subject to the terms herein (the "Specific T&Cs" ) and the Standard Subscription Terms and Conditions (the "General T&Cs ) and, together collectively referred to as the "T&Cs" ). In the event of any inconsistency between the General T&Cs and the Specific T&Cs, the Specific T&Cs shall prevail.
- This Promotion is for Lianhe Zaobao News Tablet Package offering the "Refresh Plan" where subscribers to Lianhe Zaobao will get to use a Samsung News Tablet Device on a leasing arrangement (the "Package" ), and is valid during the period commencing from 9 January 2026 to such date as may be determined by SPH Media Limited in its sole and absolute discretion (the "Promotion Period" ), for persons in Singapore who agree to subscribe for, and maintain their subscription in respect of, the Package for a minimum subscription period of 24 months (the "Minimum Subscription Period" ), subject to the terms and conditions set out herein. This Promotion is not valid with other promotions and bundle deals.
- Eligibility
This Promotion is open to all Singapore citizens, Singapore permanent residents, and foreign workers who reside in Singapore and have work permits or passes which are valid for at least 24 months from the date of submission of the subscription application.
The following table additionally sets out the groups of subscribers who are eligible for this Promotion, and how their subscriptions to the Package will take effect.
Eligible Subscribers How your subscription will take effect "New Subscribers" : Subscribers who do not have any subscriptions with SPH Media Limited. You will have a new subscription for the Package with SPH Media Limited. "Vendor Subscribers" : Subscribers who have an existing subscription plan for Lianhe Zaobao through a newspaper vendor. Your subscription with the news vendor will be converted into a direct subscription for the Package with SPH Media Limited. "Existing Month-to-Month Subscribers": Subscribers who have an existing subscription plan for Lianhe Zaobao which is renewed automatically on a monthly basis ("Existing Subscription Plan"). You may elect to: (a) retain your Existing Subscription Plan and subscribe for the Package, or (b) terminate your Existing Subscription Plan and subscribe for the Package. "Existing Term Subscribers": Subscribers who have an existing subscription plan for Lianhe Zaobao (including Lianhe Zaobao News Tablet subscriptions) which is subject to a minimum subscription period ("Existing Term Contract"). You may elect to: (a) retain your Existing Term Contract and subscribe to the Package, or (b) request for an early termination of your Existing Term Contract and subscribe to the Package. "Renewing News Tablet Subscribers":Subscribers who have an existing subscription plan for Lianhe Zaobao News Tablet which is subject to a minimum subscription period that is expiring ("Expiring News Tablet Contract") and have been invited to participate in the Promotion. You may elect to: (a) subscribe to the Package and get a new device, or (b) renew for content-only without a device. Existing Month-to-Month Subscribers, Existing Term Subscribers, and Renewing News Tablet Subscribers are collectively referred to as "Existing Subscribers".

For applications received by phone Upon successful payment, your subscription will seamlessly continue, with the new contractual term starting immediately after your current paid period concludes.
- To qualify for the Package:
5.1. You must take up a new subscription to the Package or add on to your existing subscription package in accordance with the T&Cs;
5.2. You agree to and shall maintain your subscription to the Package without any change to your subscription package for the entire duration of the Minimum Subscription Period (where "Minimum Subscription Period" is defined in paragraph 2 above to mean the period of 24 months) applicable to your subscription; and
5.3. Your duly completed subscription application form must be received by SPH Media Limited during the Promotion Period.
- SPH Media Limited has the right to determine your eligibility for this Promotion at its sole and absolute discretion, and its decision thereon shall be final and binding. Each subscriber is eligible to receive one device per subscription.
- Details of the Package are as follows:
7.1. Minimum Period of Subscription
A Minimum Subscription Period of 24 months applies to all subscriptions to the Package. Subscribers who terminate their Package prior to the expiry of the 24 months will be subject to the early termination fees as specified in paragraph 12 below.
7.2. Device
The device provided for the Package is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ (Wi-Fi) (the "Device" ). SPH Media Limited has the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute the Device with another device of similar value.
7.3. Subscription Fees
Subscribers to the Package under this Promotion may opt for different modes of payment of their subscription fees, as set out in the table below.
1. Recurring Subscribers
Subscribers who opt to make monthly payments of their subscription fees for the Package (i.e. subscribers who choose the respective options (a) in the table below) shall be collectively referred to as "Recurring Subscribers".
2. One-time Payment Subscribers
Subscribers who opt to make one-time payments of their subscription fees for the Package (i.e. subscribers who choose the respective options (b) in the table below) shall be collectively referred to as "One-time Payment Subscribers".

- Device Return and Options
8.1. The Device under your subscription is owned, provided and managed by SPH Media's partner, Cinch Tech Holding Pte. Ltd and its subsidiary, Cinch Financial Pte Ltd (collectively "Cinch" ) and is offered subject to the following terms and the provisions of clause 9 to clause 12:
a. You are prohibited from assigning, selling, transferring, pawning, pledging, lending, or otherwise disposing of the Device to any third party without the prior written consent of Cinch.
b. Any unauthorised transfer or attempt to repair the Device constitutes a breach of the T&Cs and may result in immediate enforcement actions, including Cinch's right to lock or recover the Device and charge you the restoration price of the Device.
c. Within 6 weeks from the end of the Minimum Subscription Period, you must select one of the following End-of-Term ("EOT") options:
Option 1: New Subscription with New Device: Subscribe to a new 24-month Lianhe Zaobao News Tablet subscription and exchange the old Device for the new device when delivered.
Option 2: Purchase Your Current Device: Pay a one-time fee of $96.00 directly to Cinch. The device ownership will be transferred to you (no device return required), and the existing Package subscription will terminate.
Option 3: Return Device upon completion of the current Subscription: You must return the Device in good condition and the Package subscription ends.
- Device Management and Service
9.1. You acknowledge and agree that the Device may have Security Features, including Mobile Device Management ("MDM") software, installed by Cinch.
9.2. This software allows Cinch to remotely manage and control certain device functions to protect against Unauthorised Use and provide value-added device management services.
9.3. These features may include, but are not limited to, remotely locking or unlocking the device, erasing data, and enforcing security policies.
9.4. You consent to Cinch's right to use these Security Features to collect and process technical, usage, and device management related information.
9.5. Cinch may disable, suspend, lock down, remotely control, or take other measures with respect to the Product if Cinch reasonably suspects any Unauthorised Use or a Default.
- Device Return Conditions and Requirements
10.1. For all mandatory returns of the Device, you are required to adhere to the following conditions:
a. Ensure the Device is in good working condition, accepting only normal wear and tear.
b. Include all original accessories (e.g., charger, cables, documentation).
c. Ensure all data on the Device is backed up and completely wiped prior to return.
- Automatic Purchase Mechanism
11.1. The Automatic Purchase Mechanism will be immediately triggered upon the occurrence of either of the following events:
a. Failure to Elect Option: You fail to notify your preferred EOT option by the end of the Minimum Subscription Period.
b. Late or Non-Return: The Device has not been successfully returned to, and received by, Cinch within seven (7) days following the end of the Minimum Subscription Period.
11.2. Upon the occurrence of any events defined in Clause 11.1:
a. Ownership of the Device shall be automatically and irrevocably transferred from Cinch to you.
b. You shall become immediately liable to Cinch for the amount of $96.00. Cinch may, at its sole discretion, initiate a debt collections process against you.
c. Cinch reserves the right to apply immediate restrictions and/or disabling functionality to the Device via the MDM software until the outstanding amount is settled.
- Loss and Damage
12.1. You assume and bear (a) the entire risk of loss and damage to the Device from any and every cause whatsoever and (b) any and all costs involved in repairing and/or replacing the Device on and from the time of redemption of the Device. No loss or damage to the Device or any part thereof shall impair any obligation of subscriber under the subscription, which shall continue in full force and effect through the term of the subscription contract.
12.2. If the returned Device is damaged beyond normal wear:
- Repairable Damage: You must either pay the repair cost or purchase the Device. Cinch will bill you directly.
- Beyond Repair Damage: You must purchase the Device (or enter collections). Cinch will bill you directly.
- The subscription ends after payment resolution for the damage or purchase fee.
- Redemption
13.1. The Device must be redeemed by subscribers through the Home Delivery Service, in accordance with the instructions and terms as stated on the Redemption Letter which you will receive within two (2) working days upon successful purchase of your subscription (for New Subscribers) or the date of commencement of your direct subscription with SPH Media Limited to the Package (for Vendor Subscribers and Existing Subscribers), provided that you satisfy all relevant eligibility criteria. Devices which are not redeemed by you within four (4) weeks of the date of the Redemption Letter (or such other period stated in the letter) will be forfeited. In such an event, for the avoidance of doubt, your obligations under the terms herein (including, without limitation, your obligation to maintain your subscription for the Minimum Subscription Period) will continue to apply in full.
13.2. Each Device must be configured by Cinch at the point of redemption. The Device will not be released to a subscriber until the KNOX programme is fully configured and installed in the Device.
13.3. Subscribers may not configure the Device and install the KNOX programme on their own. Should subscribers refuse to allow the Device to undergo the configuration in accordance with paragraph 10.2 above, subject to paragraph 10.4 below, they will be deemed to forfeit their subscription to the Package, and a cancellation and refund will be processed within the next seven (7) working days.
13.4. Any Device, once unsealed and opened in accordance with the instructions and/or agreement of a subscriber, is deemed to be purchased and redeemed by the Subscriber and the Package may not be cancelled and refunded. All terms stated above will apply with immediate effect and, if the Configuration Requirements are not satisfied, then the Subscriber will be deemed to have terminated his / her subscription to the Package before the expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period and will accordingly have to pay SPH Media Limited and Cinch Financial Pte Ltd the respective sums due under paragraph 16 below.
- Home Delivery Service
14.1. Cinch will arrange for the delivery within ten (10) working days from the date of purchase of the subscription. All queries to cancel or reschedule the appointment should be made directly to the Customer Experience Team.
14.2. There will be a maximum of three (3) delivery attempts. If all three (3) delivery attempts are unsuccessful, you will at the sole discretion of Cinch, be charged a fee of S$20 per Device for any subsequent delivery attempts requested. There will be no refunds made for the delivery fees in respect of the unsuccessful delivery attempts.
- Termination
15.1. If you (i) terminate your subscription to the Package before the expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period for any reason whatsoever, or (ii) during the Minimum Subscription Period fail to pay to SPH Media Limited or Cinch Financial Pte Ltd any sums as and when due and SPH Media Limited or Cinch Financial Pte Ltd exercises its rights herein to terminate your subscription, the following fees and charges shall also be due and payable by you to SPH Media Limited or Cinch respectively upon notice by SPH Media Limited and/or Cinch Financial Pte Ltd:
a. administrative fee of S$20; and
b. early termination fees of S$480, if the Minimum Subscription Period is twenty-four (24) months.
15.2. For the avoidance of doubt, if you terminate your subscription to the Package before the expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period, the fees in this paragraph 15 shall be due and payable by you. In the event of a termination of a subscription to the Package before the expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period for any reason whatsoever, (a) all of the subscriber's entitlements under the Package (including, without limitation, the Standard Product Warranty (as defined below)) will cease and (b) all amounts paid prior to the date of termination will be strictly non-refundable.
15.3. You may cancel your subscription to the Package at any time after the Minimum Subscription Period. However, you agree that your subscription to the Package will continue and be renewed automatically on a monthly or yearly basis (depending on the payment plan you select) until you expressly instruct us that you wish to cancel your subscription by providing us with at least 30 days' prior notice in one of the following ways: (a) in writing and sent by post to Customer Experience, Consumer Division, SPH Media Ltd, 1000 Toa Payoh North Annexe Level 6, News Centre, Singapore 318994; or (b) by calling our Customer Experience Team at 6388 3838; or (c) by emailing us at circs@sph.com.sg. If the minimum subscription period applicable to your subscription has not yet expired as at the date of such termination, the prevailing administrative, termination or other fees shall also be due and payable by you. Unless otherwise stated by SPH Media, any renewal of your subscription will be on the prevailing subscription terms.
- Unless SPH Media Limited has stated expressly otherwise, each subscriber may only enjoy one Package at any time, which may not be applied in conjunction with any other promotions or offers. The subscriber acknowledges that the Device is provided in connection with the Package and undertakes not to sell, rent, lease and/or distribute the Device.
- At any one time, there must not be more than two (2) existing SPH Media Limited news tablet packages (across all publications) that are tied to one (1) billing address. However, SPH Media Limited may, in its sole and absolute discretion, grant exceptions to the foregoing. Please contact the Customer Experience Team if you have any queries.
- SPH Media Limited and/or Cinch will verify your billing address at the point of redemption or, as the case may be, delivery of the Device. Your subscription will be terminated, and you will not be entitled to redeem the Device if your billing address does not match your proof of residential address (as stated in your identification documents).
- Warranty
19.1. The manufacturer of the Device provides a standard 12-month manufacturer product warranty (the Standard Product Warranty ) in respect of the Device and the subscriber is required to register and activate the warranty online at zbsub.sph.com.sg/nt-warranty.
19.2. All matters relating to Device insurance, repairs, fixes, and any claims concerning Device faults, fitness for use, or warranty coverage must be coordinated exclusively with Cinch. for, nor shall it facilitate, any Device claims, repairs, or associated payments.
19.3. SPH Media Limited gives no express or implied warranties of any kind in respect of the Device. The Subscriber agrees to bear all costs and expenses incurred in connection with the repair or replacement of the Device at all times and shall be solely responsible for paying any such costs directly to Cinch as required by their policies or service terms. SPH Media Limited will not be responsible for, nor shall it facilitate, any Device claims, repairs, or associated payments.
19.4. In the event that the Device is spoiled or defective during the warranty period under the Standard Product Warranty, the subscriber is responsible for bringing the Device and original redemption letter back to Cinch Tech Holding Pte Ltd or one of the service centres stated in the Redemption Acknowledgement Letter. More information about standard warranty coverage to the Device can be found at stsub.sg/warranty; in the meantime, subscribers will be able to access publication(s) on zaobao.com.sg and have concurrent access to Lianhe Zaobao mobile application on one device. The subscriber agrees to bear all costs and expenses incurred in connection with the repair or replacement of the Device at any and all times.
19.5. All matters relating to the Standard Product Warranty are solely between the subscriber and the manufacturer and SPH Media Limited will not be responsible for any discrepancies or changes (if any) in respect of the foregoing. SPH Media Limited will also not be liable for any direct or indirect claims, actions, demands or complaints, or any liabilities, judgments, compounds, penalties, losses, costs, damages, expenses, personal injury or death in connection with the Standard Product Warranty.
19.6. In the event that the Device is lost or if you wish to replace the Device for any other reason, please contact SPH Media Limited directly at tel no: 6388 3838 to purchase a new Device. The SPH Media Limited Tab application and KNOX programme are only available on Samsung tablets issued by SPH Media Limited and/or its authorised agents and service centres. SPH Media Limited and/or its authorised agents and service centres will not be able to configure a tablet or device purchased through other channels, to include the SPH Media Limited Tab application and KNOX programme on such tablet or device.
- By subscribing for the Package, you agree and consent to the terms of our privacy policy as amended from time to time, available at https://corporate.sph.com.sg/legal/sph_privacy.html (Privacy Policy), and the terms of the Privacy Policy are incorporated into these Specific T&Cs by reference.
- Subject to applicable laws, by subscribing for the Package, you further agree and consent:
21.1. that SPH Media Limited or its authorized agents and/or service centres shall have the right to manage features of the KNOX programme embedded within your Device, which includes, but is not limited to, the ability to: (a) make modifications and changes remotely to the configuration, deployment and management of the Device's interface, graphics, audio clips, editorial content, images and/or videos, and the scripts and software used to implement the KNOX programme; (b) remotely install applications (including applications from SPH Media Limited and its related corporations and/or other third parties) on the Device; (c) make modifications and changes remotely to the wallpaper and lock screen image of the Device; and (d) send you advertisements, marketing information and other communications through alerts, push notifications or in any other form or media on your Device at any time and from time to time. If, during the Minimum Subscription Period, you fail to pay to SPH Media Limited any sums as and when due, you consent and agree for SPH Media Limited to remotely lock your Device and restrict access to the KNOX programme embedded within the Device.
21.2. to SPH Media Limited and its related corporations, collecting, using and disclosing diagnostic, technical, usage and other related data or information, including, but not limited to, unique system or hardware identifiers and information about your Device, that is gathered periodically in an anonymised form in order to improve SPH Media Limited's products and services, facilitate the provision of software updates, product support and for the purposes set out in the Privacy Policy.
The provisions of these paragraphs 20 and 21 shall also constitute your consent for the purpose of the provisions of the Spam Control Act 2007, Computer Misuse Act 1993 and other applicable law, unless otherwise notified in writing by you in the procedure as determined by SPH Media Limited from time to time, including as may be described in the Privacy Policy.
- SPH Media Limited and its related corporations shall in no way be responsible or liable for any loss (including, without limitation, any indirect or consequential loss and damages for loss of profits, business interruption or loss of information), liability, expenses, claims and costs arising out of or in connection with the Device, including, but not limited to, any actual or alleged injury, damage, death or other consequences occurring to any person as a result, directly or indirectly, of the possession or use of the Device whether claimed by reason of breach of warranty, negligence, product defect or otherwise, and regardless of the form in which any such claim is made, save for any liability that cannot be excluded by applicable laws (in which case that liability is limited to the extent allowed by applicable laws).
- You acknowledge that Cinch is SPH Media Limited's partner for the Promotion, and agree that Cinch or its subsidiary, Cinch Financial Pte Ltd may collect or recover any outstanding subscription fees, termination charges or other sums payable by you under these Specific T&Cs, whether in Cinch's own name or on behalf of SPH Media Limited. Without prejudice to the foregoing, you further acknowledge and agree that Cinch Financial and/or SPH Media Limited may appoint third-party service providers to assist with such recovery efforts.
- SPH Media Limited may, at its sole and absolute discretion, vary, amend or revise the Specific T&Cs and/or terminate or withdraw this Promotion at any time without prior notice.
