Terms and Conditions

1.              This subscription promotion (“Promotion”) is administered by SPH Media Limited (“SPH”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

 

2.              Participation in this Promotion is subject to:

 

(a)            the terms herein,

 

(b)            the Standard Subscription Terms and Conditions found at https://subscribe.sph.com.sg/terms-and-conditions/ (“Standard T&Cs”).

(c)             the Zaobao News Tablet Package Terms and Conditions found at https://subscribe.sph.com.sg/zh/promotions/lianhe-zaobao-news-tablet-promotion/ (the “News Tablet T&Cs”)

 

(collectively, the “T&Cs”)

 

In the event of any conflict or inconsistency among the T&Cs, the terms herein will take precedence over the Standard T&Cs.

 

3.              Under this Promotion, you may receive premium items set out below (collectively referred to as “Premium”) for free when you sign up for a new subscription to any of the applicable publications (“Publication(s)”) under the applicable subscription package (“Package”). Subscriptions under this Promotion will be subject to the relevant minimum subscription period (“Minimum Subscription Period”). Details are as set out in the table below.

4.              This Promotion is valid during the period commencing from 15 January 2024 until 29 February 2024, or until all the Premiums available under this Promotion have been fully redeemed, whichever is earlier (the "Promotion Period").

 

5.              To qualify for this Promotion and the Premium:

 

(a)            you must meet the eligibility criteria set out in the T&Cs (in particular, Clause 6 below),

 

(b)            we must receive your duly completed application form and payment before the Promotion Period ends (requests for extensions will not be entertained); and

 

(c)             you agree to and shall maintain your subscription to the relevant Package without any change for the whole of the applicable Minimum Subscription Period.

 

6.              Eligibility:

 

(a)            This Promotion is open to Singapore citizens, Singapore permanent residents, and foreigners residing in Singapore and have work permits or passes which are valid for the duration of the applicable Minimum Subscription Period.

 

(b)            You are eligible for this Promotion if you fall within one of the following groups of subscribers:

 

(i)              "New Subscribers": Subscribers who do not currently have a subscription to the Package.

 

(ii)             "Vendor Subscribers": Current subscribers of the Publication(s) who are paying their subscription fees to a newspaper vendor (your subscription with your vendor will be terminated and you will become a direct subscriber of the Package with us).

 

(iii)            "Month-to-Month Subscribers": Current subscribers of the Publication(s) under an existing subscription plan with us which is renewed automatically monthly (your new subscription will replace your current subscription and you will be subject to the Minimum Subscription Period).

 

(c)             Notwithstanding the above, you will not be eligible for this Promotion if you, or any member of your household:

 

(i)              have an existing subscription to the Publication(s) with us which is subject to a minimum subscription period (including a subscription to the Package), or

 

(ii)             had terminated such a subscription within the 90 days prior to the date of your application under this Promotion.

 

A "household" refers to a domestic unit comprising members of the same family who have the same billing address and/or delivery address

 

7.              You may not participate in this Promotion in conjunction with other promotions and deals that we may be offering at the same time.

 

8.              Notwithstanding any term herein, we have the right to determine your eligibility or decline acceptance of your application for this Promotion at our sole and absolute discretion and our decision thereon shall be final and binding. If we determine that any of the information you provided in your subscription under this Promotion is not true and does not meet the requirements under the T&Cs or that you have otherwise breached any of the T&Cs, we may terminate your subscription and recover from you the Premium or the value of the Premium provided to you under this Promotion, without prejudice to our other rights and remedies against you under the T&Cs.

 

9.              Where a Premium is offered in connection with your subscription, additional terms apply: 

 

(a)            You may only redeem one Premium per subscription and per household.

 

(b)            If your application for the Promotion is successful, an email (“Redemption Email”) containing details of the Premium and how you may redeem it will be sent to you within three (3) working days after we confirm your subscription to the Package.

 

(c)             Premiums must be redeemed in accordance with the instructions and terms as stated on the Redemption Email. Any Premium not redeemed within the validity period of the Premium for any reason, including expiry or service disruption, will be forfeited. In such event, for the avoidance of doubt, your obligations under the terms herein (including, without limitation, to maintain the subscription for the Minimum Subscription Period) will continue to apply in full.

 

(d)            If the Premium is to be delivered to your registered address, you must be physically present during the delivery, and if requested, present your NRIC and digital/printed Redemption Email for verification.

 

(e)            The Premium is provided respectively by third parties, namely NTUC Fairprice Co-operative Ltd and Samsung Electronics Singapore Pte. Ltd. (each the "Premium Provider" as applicable to item), and is to be redeemed or used according to their respective terms and conditions (as applicable to each item). By participating in this Promotion and using or redeeming the Premium, you accept that:

 

(i)              Any dispute about the quality, condition, or redemption of the Premium (including warranty claims, if any) is to be resolved directly with the Premium Provider and we are not obliged to assist or act on your behalf in communicating with them.

 

(ii)             You use the Premium at your own risk. We are not responsible for and we do not guarantee: (1) that the Premium Provider’s services or platforms will be accessible, secure, reliable, or be without disruption, interruption, errors, virus or other harmful elements, or (2) that the results, information, contents or materials derived from the use of their services or platforms are accurate, reliable or suitable for its users.

 

(iii)            The Premium Provider may update, modify, or change the terms and conditions of use of the Premium or its services at any time, and we shall not be liable to you for any such update, modification, or change.

 

(iv)           Except to the extent that they may not be excluded by law, we make no representations or warranties of any kind in respect of the Premium, whether implied, express or statutory, including without limitation the warranties of non-infringement of third party rights, title, merchantability, satisfactory quality or fitness for a particular purpose.

 

(v)             To the fullest extent allowed by applicable laws, we shall not under any circumstances whatsoever be liable for: (1) your use of the Premium, (2) any delay, failure, or default of the Premium (including redemption of the Premium), (3) any service offered by the Premium Provider (including, but not limited to, any failure, interruption, disruption or downtime on the Premium Provider’s platform / mobile application), and (4) the acts, omissions and conduct of any third parties (including the Premium Provider) in connection with or related to your use of the Premium. You further indemnify us against any losses or damages that we may suffer arising from your use or redemption of the Premium.

 

(f)              The Premium is provided for your personal and non-commercial use only. You will not resell the Premium to any other persons whether for profit or otherwise, and you shall not charge other persons for use of the Premium.

 

(g)            The Premium is available whilst stocks last, and we reserve the right and discretion to substitute the Premium with any other product of similar value. No exchange or re-election of the Premium is allowed once your application has been submitted.

 

(h)            The Premiums are not transferable or exchange for cash, credit, or other items, and are not valid with any other discounts, vouchers, or promotions. Any unutilized amount for the Premium will not be refunded and cannot be used to offset any existing or new subscription or promotion.

 

10.           Upon expiry of the applicable Minimum Subscription Period, your subscription to the Package will automatically continue, without prior notice from us, on the prevailing terms until and unless you provide us with notice in writing that you wish to terminate your subscription in accordance with the said terms.

 

11.           If you terminate your subscription to the Package before the expiry of the applicable Minimum Subscription Period for any reason whatsoever, or you fail to pay to us any sums as and when due during your subscription, we may terminate your subscription and you shall be liable for the following termination fees and charges:

12.           By subscribing for the Package under this Promotion, you agree and consent:

 

(a)            to the terms of our privacy policy as amended from time to time, available at https://corporate.sph.com.sg/legal/sph_privacy.html ("Privacy Policy"), and the terms of the Privacy Policy are incorporated into the T&Cs by reference; and

 

(b)            that we may collect, use, process and/or disclose your personal data to communicate with you for purposes relating to this Promotion, provide you with the Premium, marketing information on products and services we offer, and such other purposes we may reasonably deem appropriate, or for such purposes that you may have otherwise given your consent for.

 

13.           We shall in no way be responsible or liable for any loss (including, without limitation, any indirect or consequential loss and damages for loss of profits, business interruption or loss of information), liability, expenses, claims and costs arising out of or in connection with the this Promotion or the Premium, including, but not limited to, any actual or alleged injury, damage, death or other consequences occurring to any person as a result, directly or indirectly, of the possession or use of the Premium whether claimed by reason of breach of warranty, negligence, product defect or otherwise, and regardless of the form in which any such claim is made, save for any liability that cannot be excluded by applicable laws (in which case that liability is limited to the extent allowed by applicable laws).

 

14.           We may, at our sole and absolute discretion, vary, amend or revise the T&Cs and/or terminate or withdraw this Promotion at any time without prior notice.

6. 本促销活动仅适用于:

(i) 新订户(简称新订户):不是现有订户(定义见下文)的人,以及目前没有订阅配套的人。

(iii) 现有每月付款订户(简称现有订户):与新报业媒体签订的现有订阅配套(按月自动续订)的早报现有订户。参与此促销后,现有订户将重新订阅促销配套,并遵守其适用的最短订阅期。

(c) 尽管有上述规定,如果您或您的任何家庭成员出现以下情况,您将没有资格参加此促销活动:

(i) 直接订阅早报配套并附带最短订阅期的早报订户,

(ii) 在参加促销日期前 90 天内终止订阅。

家庭是指由具有相同账单地址和/或送货地址的同一家庭成员组成的家庭单位。

7. 此促销不可与其它促销优惠合併使用。

8. 尽管此处有任何条款,我们有权自行决定您是否符合资格或拒绝接受您的订阅申请,我们的决定为最终决定并具有约束力。如果我们确定您在本次促销活动的订阅中提供的任何信息不真实且不符合条款和条件的要求,或者您以其他方式违反了任何条款与条件,我们可能会终止您的订阅并向您追回溢价或根据本促销活动向您提供的赠品的价值,但不影响我们根据条款与条件对您享有的其他权利和补救措施。

9. 如果您享有促销赠品,则以下附加条款适用:

(d)   如果赠品将被派送至您的注册地址,您必须亲自在场。如果需要,请出示您的身份证和数码或打印版的电邮以便验证。

(e)   赠品由第三方 Samsung Electronics Singapore Pte. Ltd.简称赠品供应商)提供,并根据其条款与条件收取或使用。参与此促销并接受赠品,即表示您接受:

(i) 有关赠品的质量和状况的任何争议应直接与制造商解决,新报业媒体没有义务协助或代表订户与制造商沟通。

 

(ii) 您使用赠品时需自行承担风险。我们不负责也不保证(1) 赠品供应商的服务或平台是可访问的、安全的、可靠的,或者没有中断、错误、病毒或其他有害因素,或 (2)当用户使用其服务或平台而产生的结果、信息、内容或材料准确、可靠或适合的。

 

(iii) 赠品供应商可以随时更新、修改或更改赠品或其服务的使用条款与条件,对于任何此类更新、修改或更改,我们将不承担任何责任。

 

(iv) 除非法律不排除,否则我们不就溢价做出任何形式的陈述或保证,无论是暗示的、明示的还是法定的,包括但不限于不侵犯第三方权利、所有权的保证、适销性、令人满意的质量或适合特定用途。

(v) 在适用法律允许的最大范围内,我们在任何情况下均不对以下情况负责(1) 您对赠品的使用,(2)赠品的任何延误、失败或违约(包括收取赠品), (3) 赠品供应商提供的任何服务(包括但不限于赠品供应商平台/移动应用程序的任何故障、中断或停机),以及 (4) 任何第三方的作为、不作为和行为(包括 赠品供应商)与您对赠品的使用有关。您进一步确认我们将对因您使用或收取赠品是而可能遭受的任何损失或损害不负任何责任。

(f) 赠品仅供您个人和非商业用途, 您不会将赠品转售给任何人,无论是牟利还是出于其他目的,也不得向他人收取使用赠品的费用。

(g) 赠品数量有限,送完即止。我们保留用任何其他具有类似价值的产品替代赠品的权利和酌情决定权。提交订单后,严禁取消、交换或重新选择其他赠品。

ZB News Tablet Package Terms and Conditions

1.Participation in this subscription promotion is subject to the terms herein (the “Specific T&Cs”) and the Standard Terms and Conditions available above (the “General T&Cs” and, together with the Specific T&Cs, the “T&Cs”). In the event of any inconsistency between the General T&Cs and the Specific T&Cs, the Specific T&Cs shall prevail.

2.This promotion is for the Zaobao News Tablet Package (the "Package"). The Package entitles the subscriber: 

(a) access to Zaobao Digital on the Device (as defined below); 

(b) access to Zaobao Digital through zaobao.sg; and

(c) zaobao app access for Zaobao Digital. 

In addition, for a limited time only, the subscriber will have complimentary access to Shin Min Digital through the same access points until such date as may be determined by SPH Media Limited in its sole and absolute discretion. This promotion is valid during the period commencing from 1 October 2023 to such date as may be determined by SPH Media Limited in its sole and absolute discretion (the "Promotion Period"), for persons in Singapore who agree to subscribe for, and maintain their subscription in respect of, the Package for a minimum subscription period of 30 months (the "Minimum Subscription Period"), subject to the terms and conditions set out herein. This promotion is not valid with other promotions and bundle deals. 

3. Eligibility

Subject to the following conditions, this promotion is open to all Singapore citizens and permanent residents and foreign workers who reside in Singapore and have work permits or passes which are valid for at least 30 months from the date of submission of the subscription application.

3.1. The following groups of subscribers (collectively, the “Eligible Subscribers”) are eligible for this promotion:

        3.1.1. New subscribers (“New Subscribers”): Subscribers who do not currently have a subscription to the Package.

        3.1.2. Vendor subscribers (“Vendor Subscribers”): Existing subscribers of The Zaobao who are currently paying their subscription fees to a newspaper vendor. Upon subscription under this Promotion, the newspaper vendor subscription will be converted into direct subscriptions with SPH Media Limited.

3.2. The following groups of subscribers (collectively, the “Existing Subscribers”) are eligible for this promotion:

        3.2.1. Existing subscribers who have subscribed for Lianhe Zaobao under an existing subscription plan (“Existing Subscription Plan”) with SPH Media Limited which is renewed automatically on a monthly basis (“Existing Month-to-Month Subscribers”) may elect to retain their Existing Subscription Plan and subscribe for the Package. Please refer to paragraph 7.2(b) below for further details.

        3.2.2. Existing subscribers who have subscribed for Lianhe Zaobao under an existing contract (“Existing Term Contract”) with SPH Media Limited which has a minimum subscription period (“Existing Term Subscribers”) may elect to: (a) retain their Existing Term Contract and subscribe for the Package; or (b) request for an early termination of their Existing Term Contract and subscribe for the Package. Please refer to paragraphs 7.2(c) and 7.2(d) below for further details.

4. For information on when your subscription to the Package will commence, please refer to the breakdown below:

4.1. New Subscribers

        4.1.1. For applications received through the SPH Media Limited subscription platform, subscription in respect of the Package will commence on or around 2 working days after the subscription application is received by SPH Media Limited.

        4.1.2. For applications received through call-in, subscription will commence either 1st or 15th day of the upcoming month (subject to processing time of 7 – 9 working days).

4.2. Vendor Subscribers

        4.2.1. For applications received from 1st – 15th of current month, direct subscription with SPH Media Limited will commence on the 1st day of the next month.

        4.2.2. For applications received from 16th – 31st of current month, direct subscription with SPH Media Limited will commence on the 1st day of the following month.

4.3. Existing Subscribers

        4.3.1. For applications received through the SPH Media Limited subscription platform, subscription in respect of the Package will commence on or around 2 working days after the subscription application is received by SPH Media Limited.

        4.3.2. For applications received through call-in, subscription will commence either 1st or 15th day of the upcoming month (subject to processing time of 7 – 9 working days).

5. To qualify for a Samsung News Tablet Device (“Device”), you must:

5.1. take up a new subscription to the Package or, add on to your existing subscription package in accordance with the T&Cs;

5.2. agree to maintain your subscription to the Package without any change to your subscription package for the entire duration of the Minimum Subscription Period (where “Minimum Subscription Period” is defined in paragraph 2 above to mean the period of 30 months) applicable to your subscription; and

5.3. your duly completed subscription application form must be received by SPH Media Limited during the Promotion Period.

6. SPH Media Limited has the right to determine your eligibility for this promotion at its sole and absolute discretion and its decision thereon shall be final and binding. Each subscriber is eligible to receive one Device per subscription.

7. The Package is as follows:

7.1 Minimum Period of Subscription

7.2 Fees involved

Upfront payments under paragraphs 7.2(a)(i)(B), 7.2(a)(ii)(B), 7.2(b)(i)(B), 7.2(b)(ii)(B) 7.2(c)(i)(B), 7.2(c)(ii)(B) below are only available to subscribers who call in to Customer Experience Team.

(a) New Subscribers and Vendor Subscribers

New Subscribers and Vendor Subscribers can choose to pay their 30-month subscription fees for the Package via the following methods:

(a) If the Device is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (LTE) model (inclusive of S Pen (in-box)) (“Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (LTE)”):

     (A) one-time upfront payment of S$300 and monthly payments of S$24.90; or

      (B) one-time upfront payment of S$1,047.00.  

(ii) If the Device is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ (Wi-Fi) model (“Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ (Wi-Fi)”):

      (A) S$24.90 per month; or

      (B) one-time upfront payment of S$747.00. 

(b) Existing Subscribers

Existing Month-to-Month Subscribers who elect to retain their Existing Subscription Plan and subscribe for the Package may choose to pay their 30-month subscription fees via the following methods:

(i) If the Device is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (LTE):

      (A) monthly payments of: (I) the prevailing monthly subscription fees in respect of their Existing Subscription Plan; (II) one-time upfront payment of S$300; and (III) monthly payments of S$24.90 in respect of the Package; or

      (B) one-time upfront payment of an amount equal to the sum of: (a) 30 months of their existing subscription fees in respect of their Existing Subscription Plan; and (b) an additional amount of S$1,047.00.

(ii) If the Device is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ (Wi-Fi):

      (A) monthly payments of: (I) the prevailing monthly subscription fees in respect of their Existing Subscription Plan; and (II) an additional amount S$24.90 per month as the monthly subscription fees in respect of the Package; or

      (B) one-time upfront payment of an amount equal to the sum of: (I) 30 months of their existing subscription fees in respect of their Existing Subscription Plan; and (II) an additional amount of S$747.00. 

(c) Existing Term Subscribers who elect to retain their Existing Term Contract

Existing Term Subscribers who elect to retain their Existing Term Contract and subscribe for the Package may choose to pay their 30-month subscription fees via the following methods:

(i) If the Device is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (LTE):

      (A) a one-time upfront fee of S$300, plus monthly payments of: (I) the prevailing monthly subscription fees in respect of their Existing Term Contract; and (I) an additional S$24.90 per month as the monthly subscription fees in respect of the Package; or

      (B) a one-time upfront payment of S$1,047.00, plus monthly payments of the prevailing monthly subscription fees in respect of their Existing Term Contract.

(ii) If the Device is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ (Wi-Fi):

      (A) monthly payments of: (I) the prevailing monthly subscription fees in respect of their Existing Term Contract; and (I) an additional S$24.90 per month as the monthly subscription fees in respect of the Package; or

      (B) a one-time upfront payment of S$747.00, plus monthly payments of the prevailing monthly subscription fees in respect of their Existing Term Contract.

(d) Existing Term Subscribers who elect to request for an early termination

Existing Term Subscribers who elect to request for an early termination of their Existing Term Contract and subscribe for the Package may choose to pay their 30-month subscription and early termination fees via the following methods: 

(i) If the Device is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (LTE):

      (A) a one-time upfront payment of an amount equal to the sum of the early termination fees under the Existing Term Contract, a one-time upfront fee of S$300, and monthly payments of S$24.90 as the monthly subscription fees in respect of the Package; or

      (B) a one-time upfront payment of an amount equal to the sum of: (a) the early termination fees under the Existing Term Contract; and (b) an amount of S$1,047.00.

(ii) If the Device is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ (Wi-Fi):

      (A) a one-time upfront payment of an amount equal to the sum of the early termination fees under the Existing Term Contract, and (b) monthly payments of S$24.90 as the monthly subscription fees in respect of the Package; or

      (B) a one-time upfront payment of an amount equal to the sum of: (a) the early termination fees under the Existing Term Contract; and (b) an amount of S$747.00.

This early termination option is only available to Existing Term Subscribers who call in to the Customer Experience Team. Subscribers who opt to make monthly payments of their subscription fees in respect of the Package (i.e. subscribers who choose options set out in paragraphs 7.2(a)(i)(A), 7.2(a)(ii)(A), 7.2(b)(i)(A), 7.2(b)(ii)(A) 7.2(c)(i)(A), 7.2(c)(ii)(A), 7.2(d)(i)(A), and 7.2(d)(ii)(A) above) shall collectively be referred to as the “Recurring Subscribers”.

8. SPH Media Limited has the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute the Device with another device of similar value.

9. Ownership

9.1. (Applicable only to Recurring Subscribers) All rights, title and interest in and to the Device shall pass to the Recurring Subscriber only upon (a) receipt by SPH Media Limited of full payment of the subscription fees and applicable Package fees for the contractual period of 30 months and (b) satisfaction of the configuration requirements under paragraph 10 below (the “Configuration Requirements”). Otherwise, subject to paragraph 11.1, SPH Media Limited retains all rights, title and interest in the Device provided to each Recurring Subscriber and the Recurring Subscriber agrees not to re-sell or assign his/her interest in the Device during such period. In the event that the Recurring Subscriber terminates the subscription to the Package before the expiry of the 30-month contractual period, the termination fees in paragraph 14 below shall apply.

9.2. (Applicable only to Recurring Subscribers) At the end of the 30-month contractual period and upon full payment of the subscription fees and applicable Package fees and provided that the Configuration Requirements are satisfied, the Device will be the sole and exclusive property of the Recurring Subscriber.

9.3. (Applicable to subscribers who choose the options set out in paragraphs 7.2(a)(ii), 7.2(b)(ii),7.2(c)(ii) or 7.2(d)(ii) above) Subscribers who make payment of the subscription fees in respect of the Package via a one-time upfront payment and satisfy the Configuration Requirements shall own all rights, title and interest in the Device upon receipt of such one-time upfront payment by SPH Media Limited and satisfaction of the Configuration Requirements.

9.4. Notwithstanding that the ownership of Device may be transferred to you in accordance with the terms herein, each subscriber acknowledges and agrees that SPH Media Limited owns and retains all rights and interest, including all intellectual property rights, in respect of the KNOX programme.

10. Redemption

10.1 The Device must be redeemed by subscribers through (a) the news tablet redemption centres designated by SPH Media Limited or (b) the Home Delivery Service, in accordance with the instructions and terms as stated on the Gift Redemption Letter which you will receive within two (2) working days upon successful purchase of your subscription (for New Subscribers) or the date of commencement of your direct subscription with SPH Media Limited to the Package (for Vendor Subscribers and Existing Subscribers), provided that you satisfy all relevant eligibility criteria. Devices which are not redeemed by you within four (4) weeks of the date of the Gift Redemption Letter (or such other period stated in the letter) will be forfeited. In such an event, for the avoidance of doubt, your obligations under the terms herein (including, without limitation, your obligation to maintain your subscription for the Minimum Subscription Period) will continue to apply in full.

10.2. Each Device must be configured by SPH Media Limited, or an authorised personnel approved by SPH Media Limited, at the point of redemption. The Device will not be released to a subscriber until the KNOX programme is fully configured and installed in the Device.

10.3. Subscribers may not configure the Device and install the KNOX programme on their own. Should subscribers refuse to allow the Device to undergo the configuration in accordance with paragraph 10.2 above, subject to paragraph 10.4 below, they will be deemed to forfeit their subscription to the Package and a cancellation and refund will be processed within the next seven (7) working days.

10.4. Any Device, once unsealed and opened in accordance with the instructions and/or agreement of a subscriber, is deemed to be purchased and redeemed by the subscriber and the Package may not be cancelled and refunded. All terms stated above will apply with immediate effect and, if the Configuration Requirements are not satisfied, then the subscriber will be deemed to have terminated his / her subscription to the Package before the expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period and will accordingly have to pay SPH Media Limited the sums due under paragraph 16 below.

11. Loss and Damage

11.1. Subscribers shall assume and bear (a) the entire risk of loss and damage to the Device from any and every cause whatsoever and (b) any and all costs involved in repairing and/or replacing the Device on and from the time of redemption of the Device. No loss or damage to the Device or any part thereof shall impair any obligation of subscriber under the subscription, which shall continue in full force and effect through the term of the subscription contract.

11.2. In the event a subscriber loses the Device, he / she may make a written request for SPH Media Limited to remotely lock the Device and restrict access to the KNOX programme embedded within the Device.

12. Where the Device is offered by SPH Media Limited in connection with your subscription, the following additional terms apply: 

(a) The Device is only available whilst stocks last; strictly no exchange is allowed after the subscription application is submitted to SPH Media Limited;

(b) You agree and acknowledge that no representations or warranties of any kind, implied, express or statutory, including, without limitation, the warranties of non-infringement of third party rights, title, merchantability, satisfactory quality or fitness for a particular purpose, are given by SPH Media Limited in respect of the Device. SPH Media Limited will not entertain any requests to issue any refund or grant an exchange in respect of any Device that is found to be faulty or not fit for use, or for any other reasons; and

(c) Device must be redeemed by subscribers in accordance with the instructions and terms as stated on the Gift Redemption Letter which you will receive within two working days upon successful purchase of your subscription (for New Subscribers) or the date of commencement of your direct subscription with SPH Media Limited to the Package (for Vendor Subscribers and Existing Subscribers), provided that you satisfy all relevant eligibility criteria. Devices which are not redeemed by you within four (4) weeks of the date of the Gift Redemption Letter (or such other period stated in the letter) will be forfeited. In such event, for the avoidance of doubt, your obligations under the terms herein (including, without limitation, your obligation to maintain your subscription for the Minimum Subscription Period) will continue to apply in full.

13. Home Delivery Service

13.1. Subscribers may opt to redeem the Devices through the home delivery service (the “Home Delivery Service”) for a fee of S$15 per Device (the “Home Delivery Fee”).

13.2. The service provider will arrange for the delivery within seven (7) working days from the date of purchase of the subscription. All queries to cancel or reschedule the appointment should be made directly to the Customer Experience Team.

13.3. There will be a maximum of three (3) delivery attempts. If, at the sole discretion of the service provider, all three (3) delivery attempts are unsuccessful, you will be charged an additional fee of S$15 per Device for any subsequent delivery attempts requested. There will be no refunds made for the delivery fees in respect of the unsuccessful delivery attempts.

14. Upon expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period, you agree that your subscription to the Package will continue in force on the then prevailing terms for such subscription until and unless you provide SPH Media Limited with notice in writing that you wish to terminate in accordance with the said terms. Upon termination of your subscription to the Package after the expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period, the KNOX programme embedded within your Device will be removed within a period of four (4) weeks.

(Only applicable in respect of subscribers who have an Existing Subscription Plan or Existing Term Contract at the time of subscription for the Package) For the avoidance of doubt, if there is any inconsistency between the terms and conditions of the subscriber’s existing subscription contract and the Specific T&Cs in respect of this Package, the Specific T&Cs shall prevail. If the subscriber’s Existing Term Contract contains a minimum subscription period and provides that termination fees will be payable in the event of termination before the expiry of the minimum subscription period under that Existing Term Contract, the subscriber shall be liable to pay all the applicable termination fees under the Existing Term Contract and/or under these Specific T&Cs (as the case may be), in the event that the subscription is terminated prior to the expiry of the respective minimum subscription periods under the subscriber’s Existing Term Contract and/or these Specific T&Cs.

15. Termination

15.1. If you terminate your subscription to the Package before the expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period for any reason whatsoever, or during the Minimum Subscription Period you fail to pay to SPH Media Limited any sums as and when due and SPH Media Limited exercises its rights under the Standard Terms to terminate your subscription, the following fees and charges shall also be due and payable by you to SPH Media Limited upon notice by SPH Media Limited:

(a) administrative fee of S$20; and

(b) termination fees of S$600, if the Minimum Subscription Period is thirty (30) months.

15.2. For the avoidance of doubt, if you terminate your subscription to the Package before the expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period, the fees in this paragraph 16 shall be due and payable by you. In the event of a termination of a subscription to the Package before the expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period for any reason whatsoever, (a) all of the subscriber’s entitlements under the Package (including, without limitation, the Standard Product Warranty (as defined below)) will cease and (b) all amounts paid prior to the date of termination will be strictly non-refundable.

15.3. You may cancel your subscription to the Package at any time after the Minimum Subscription Period. However, you agree that your subscription to the Package will continue and be renewed automatically on a monthly or yearly basis (depending on the payment plan you select) until you expressly instruct us that you wish to cancel your subscription by providing us with at least 30 days’ prior notice in one of the following ways: (a) in writing and sent by post to “Customer Experience, Consumer Division, SPH Media Ltd, 1000 Toa Payoh North Annexe Level 6, News Centre, Singapore 318994”; or (b) by calling our Customer Experience Team at 6388 3838; or (c) by emailing us at circs@sph.com.sg. If the minimum subscription period applicable to your subscription has not yet expired as at the date of such termination, the prevailing administrative, termination or other fees shall also be due and payable by you. Unless otherwise stated by SPH Media, any renewal of your subscription will be on the prevailing subscription terms.

16. Unless SPH Media Limited has stated expressly otherwise, each subscriber may only enjoy one Package at any time, which may not be applied in conjunction with any other promotions or offers. The subscriber acknowledges that the Device is provided in connection with the Package and undertakes not to sell, rent, lease and/or distribute the Device.

17. At any one time, there must not be more than two (2) existing SPH Media Limited news tablet packages (across all publications) that are tied to one (1) billing address. However, SPH Media Limited may, in its sole and absolute discretion, grant exceptions to the foregoing. Please contact the Customer Experience Team if you have any queries.

18. SPH Media Limited and/or our relevant service providers will verify your billing address at the point of redemption or, as the case may be, delivery of the Device. Your subscription will be terminated and you will not be entitled to redeem the Device if your billing address does not match your proof of residential address (as stated in your identification documents).

19. Warranty

19.1. The manufacturer of the Device provides a standard 12-month manufacturer product warranty (the “Standard Product Warranty”) in respect of the Device and the subscriber is required to register and activate the warranty online at stsub.sg/warranty.

19.2. In the event that the Device is spoiled or defective during the warranty period under the Standard Product Warranty, the subscriber is responsible for bringing the Device and original redemption letter back to one of the service centres stated in the Gift Redemption Acknowledgement Letter. More information about standard warranty coverage to the Device can be found at stsub.sg/warranty; in the meantime, subscribers will be able to access publication(s) on www.straitstimes.com and have concurrent access to The Zaobao mobile application on one device. The subscriber agrees to bear all costs and expenses incurred in connection with the repair or replacement of the Device at any and all times.

19.3. All matters relating to the Standard Product Warranty are solely between the subscriber and the manufacturer and SPH Media Limited will not be responsible for any discrepancies or changes (if any) in respect of the foregoing. SPH Media Limited will also not be liable for any direct or indirect claims, actions, demands or complaints, or any liabilities, judgments, compounds, penalties, losses, costs, damages, expenses, personal injury or death in connection with the Standard Product Warranty.

19.4. In the event that the Device is lost or if you wish to replace the Device for any other reason, please contact SPH Media Limited directly at 6388 3838 to purchase a new Device. The SPH Media Limited Tab application and KNOX programme are only available on Samsung tablets issued by SPH Media Limited and/or its authorised agents and service centres. SPH Media Limited and/or its authorised agents and service centres will not be able to configure a tablet or device purchased through other channels, to include the SPH Media Limited Tab application and KNOX programme on such tablet or device.

20. By subscribing for the Package, you agree and consent to the terms of our privacy policy as amended from time to time, available at https://corporate.sph.com.sg/legal/sph_privacy.html (“Privacy Policy”), and the terms of the Privacy Policy are incorporated into these Specific T&Cs by reference.

21. Subject to applicable laws, by subscribing for the Package, you further agree and consent: 

21.1. that SPH Media Limited and its related corporations shall have the right to manage features of the KNOX programme embedded within your Device, which includes, but is not limited to, the ability to: (a) make modifications and changes remotely to the configuration, deployment and management of the Device’s interface, graphics, audio clips, editorial content, images and/or videos, and the scripts and software used to implement the KNOX programme; (b) remotely install applications (including applications from SPH Media Limited and its related corporations and/or other third parties) on the Device; (c) make modifications and changes remotely to the wallpaper and lock screen image of the Device; and (d) send you advertisements, marketing information and other communications through alerts, push notifications or in any other form or media on your Device at any time and from time to time. If, during the Minimum Subscription Period, you fail to pay to SPH Media Limited any sums as and when due, you consent and agree for SPH Media Limited to remotely lock your Device and restrict access to the KNOX programme embedded within the Device.

21.2. to SPH Media Limited and its related corporations, collecting, using and disclosing diagnostic, technical, usage and other related data or information, including, but not limited to, unique system or hardware identifiers and information about your Device, that is gathered periodically in an anonymised form in order to improve SPH Media Limited’s products and services, facilitate the provision of software updates, product support and for the purposes set out in the Privacy Policy.

The provisions of these paragraphs 20 and 21 shall also constitute your consent for the purpose of the provisions of the Spam Control Act (Cap. 311A), Computer Misuse Act (Cap 50A) and other applicable law, unless otherwise notified in writing by you in the procedure as determined by SPH Media Limited from time to time, including as may be described in the Privacy Policy.

22. SPH Media Limited and its related corporations shall in no way be responsible or liable for any loss (including, without limitation, any indirect or consequential loss and damages for loss of profits, business interruption or loss of information), liability, expenses, claims and costs arising out of or in connection with the Device, including, but not limited to, any actual or alleged injury, damage, death or other consequences occurring to any person as a result, directly or indirectly, of the possession or use of the Device whether claimed by reason of breach of warranty, negligence, product defect or otherwise, and regardless of the form in which any such claim is made, save for any liability that cannot be excluded by applicable laws (in which case that liability is limited to the extent allowed by applicable laws).

23. SPH Media Limited may, at its sole and absolute discretion, vary, amend or revise the Specific T&Cs and/or terminate or withdraw this promotion at any time without prior notice.

4.3 现有订户

       4.3.1. 通过新报业媒体订阅网站订阅,您的配套将在新报业媒体收到订阅申请后大约2个工作日内开始生效。

      4.3.2 通过电话订阅,您的配套将于下个月的1号或15号开始生效(处理时间为 7 至 9 个工作日)。

5. 为了符合获取三星平板电脑(简称“设备”)的资格,您必须:

5.1   成为新订户,或符合条件的现有订户须额外支付订阅费并订阅此配套,

5.2 在合约期间,您同意维持您所订阅的配套及在最短订阅期限(以上第2段中所述的“最短订阅期”定义为30个月)期间不得更改或取消合约;和

5.3 您必须在促销活动期间(简称”促销期”)上交订阅表格或申请给新报业媒体。

6. 新报业媒体有最终权利决定您是否具有资格参与此促销活动。每个订户只限订阅一次,并获得一台三星平板电脑。

7. 订阅配套详情

7.1 最短订阅期限: 30个月

7.2 相关费用

(a)新订户及报贩订户

新订户及报贩订户可以选择通过以下方式支付30个月的订阅费用:

(i) 如果选择三星 Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (LTE) 型号(包括S Pen)(简称“ 三星 Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (LTE)”):

(A) 需一次性支付S$300,并每月支付 $ 24.90;或

(B) 一次性全额付款S$1,047.00

(ii) 如果选择三星 Galaxy Tab A9+(Wi-Fi)型号(简称“ 三星 Galaxy Tab A9+(Wi-Fi)”:

(A) 需每月支付 $ 24.90的订阅费;或

(B) 一次性全额付款$747.00

(b) 现有订户

选择保留现有订阅配套,并订阅此平板配套的现有每月付款订户可以选择通过以下方式支付30个月的订阅费用:

(i) 如果选择三星 Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (LTE):

(A) 支付:(I)与现有订阅配套相关的当前每月订阅费用;(II)一次性支付金额S$300;(III)每月额外的S$24.90作为与该配套相关的每月订阅费用;或

(B) 一次性支付金额:(I)与现有订阅配套相关的30个月订阅费用;和(II)额外的S$1,047.00。

(ii) 如果选择三星 Galaxy Tab A9+(Wi-Fi):

(A) 每月支付:(I)与现有订阅配套相关的当前每月订阅费用;和(II)额外的S$24.90作为与该配套相关的每月订阅费用;或

(c) 选择保留现有合约的现有合约订户

选择保留现有订阅合约并订阅此配套的订户,可以选择通过以下方式支付订阅费用:

(ii) 如果选择三星 Galaxy Tab A9+(Wi-Fi):

(A) 一次性支付现有订阅合约取消费,以及S$24.90的每月订阅费用,作为与该套餐相关的月度订阅费用;或

9. 所有权

9.1(仅针对每月付款订户)设备的所有权利,所有权和权益仅在(a) 新报业媒体收到全额支付订阅费用和30个月合约期间的其他费后,并且(b)订户需满足第10段所述的配置要求(“配置要求”)才转移给每月付款订户。否则,根据第11.1段的规定,新报业媒体保留提供给每个每月付款订户的设备中的所有权利,所有权和权益,并且订户同意在此期间内不转售或转让其在设备中的权益。如果订户在30个月的合约期满之前终止订阅,则应按照以下第14段中的规定支付合约取消费。

9.2(仅针对每月付款订户)在30个月的合约期满时,在全额支付订阅费和适用的配套订阅费后,并且在满足配置要求的前提下,该设备将成为每月付款订户的唯一和专有财产。

9.3(适用于选择上述第7.2(a)(ii), 7.2(b)(ii),7.2(c)(ii) 或 7.2(d)(ii) 段所列出的多有订户)支付订阅费和适用配套订阅费之订户在新报业媒体收到一次性全额付款后并完成所有设备设置之后,应拥有设备的所有权利,所有权和权益。

9.4 尽管设备的所有权将会根据此条款与条件转交给订户,每个订户承认和同意新报业媒体将会持有和保留所有权利和利益,包括全部知识产权,即平板电子报应用和使用KNOX程序。

10. 兑换平板电脑

10.1 订户必须根据平板电脑兑换通知书中所述的说明和条款,通过以下两种方式兑换平板电脑:(a)前往新报业媒体指定的兑换中心或(b)派送服务。 新订户在订阅后的2个工作日内收到平板电脑兑换通知书,现有订户和报贩订户将在您的订阅合约正式开始后收到平板电脑兑换通知书。如果您未能在平板电脑兑换通知书发出日期(或信函中规定的其他期限)后四 (4) 周内兑换,您的资格将被取消。在这种情况下,为免生疑问,您在此条款下的义务(包括但不限于您在最短订阅期内维持订阅的义务)将继续适用。

10.2 您在兑换平板电脑时,必须由新报业媒体或其批准的授权人员设置您的平板电脑。在设置成功或在平板电脑中成功安装KNOX程序之前,兑换中心将不会把该平板电脑交给订户。

10.3 订户不允许自行配置设备并安装KNOX程序。如果订户不允许注册设备或完成段落10.2及以上的认证程序,按照下文第10.4条的规定,则他/她将被视为放弃订阅此配套,新报业媒体将会在7个工作日内取消配套订阅并退款。

10.4 任何设备,在获得订户同意之后,一旦开封,将会被认为订户以付款并兑换,将不能够取消或者退款。上述条款将会立即生效,如果订户不同意新报业媒体的设置,则将会被认为提前终止此订阅配套。此订户需向新报业媒体支付下述15条款中的金额。

11. 丢失和损坏

11.1 订户应承担(a)因任何原因对平板电脑造成的全部损失和损坏风险,以及(b)兑换后,对平板电脑修理和/或更换零件所涉及的任何和所有费用。平板电脑或其任何部分的损失或损坏均不应打断订户对订阅的任何义务,该订阅将在订阅合约到期内继续完全有效。

11.2 如果订户遗失了平板电脑,他/她可以书面要求新报业媒体远程锁定平板电脑并限制对设备内安装的KNOX程序的访问。

12. 新报业媒体所提供的平板电子报订阅配套与平板电脑,并适用于以下附加条款与条件:(a)订阅配套售完为止,订户在向新报业媒体提交订阅申请后,不得更换附送的平板电脑。(b) 您了解与同意新报业媒体所提供平板不会给予任何形式、暗示、明示或法定的担保或维修服务,包括但不限定保障不侵犯第三方权利、所有权、商业适售性、商品满意度及特定目的的适用性。对于任何发现有缺陷或不适合使用的设备或任何其他原因,新报业媒体不会提供任何退款或交换服务。(c) 新订户在订阅后的3个工作日内收到平板电脑兑换通知书,现有订户和报贩订户将在您的订阅合约正式开始后收到平板电脑兑换通知书。您必需按兑换书的指示在指定日期及地点兑换平板。所有电子平板于活动结束后4周内(或兑换通知书中指定期限内)未被兑换将被取消资格。若兑换平板资格被取消,订户须继续完成此条款与条件所要求之义务(包括但不仅限于维持合约中所指定的最短订阅期)。

13. 派送服务

13.1 订户可以选择平板电脑派送上门服务(以下简称“派送服务”),费用为$15(简称“派送费”)。

13.2 派送团队将从订阅之日起7个工作日内安排派送平板电脑。所有取消或重新安排派送的请求需要联系新报业媒体客户服务团队。

13.3 每位订户最多有三(3)次的派送机会。如果派送团队决定所有三(3)次派送尝试均未成功,您则需要额外支付$15的派送费。如果派送不成功,订户不可要求退款。

14. 当您的订阅合约到期后,您同意且根据当时的条款与条件继续维持同一份报刊订阅配套 (简称”合约订阅配套”) 直到您以书面通知新报业媒体终止合约及其条款与条件。在取消订阅之后,您的平板与KNOX的绑定程序将在4个星期内被删除。(仅适用于订阅平板电脑配套时已经与《联合早报》签订订阅合约的订户)为免生疑问,如订户现有订购合约的条款与条件和特定条款与条件之间存在任何不一致,则以特定条款与条件为准。如果订 的现有订阅合约包含最短订阅期,并要在该订阅合约规定的最短订阅期届满之前终止订阅,则订户应支付该订阅合约适用的合约取消费。如果订户在现有订阅合约和/或平板电脑配套的特定条款与条件(视情况而定)的相应最短订阅期限到期之前终止订阅,则订户应负责支付所有适用的合约取消费。

15. 终止合同

15.1 如果您在合约最短订阅期满前以任何理由终止合约或在合约最短订阅期间内未能向新报业媒体支付订阅费用,新报业媒体有权利根据基本条款与条件终止您的订阅,并且向您收取以下费用:

(a) 行政费 $20;

(b) 30个月合约取消费为$900

15.2 为避免疑义,如果订户在最短订阅期满前终止合约,则第15段中的费用应由订户支付。不论何种原因,在最短订阅期到期之前取消配套订阅 (a) 在此配套下所有的订户权益(包含但不仅限于标准产品保修(下述)和任何延长保修)将会停止 (b) 在合约终止之前所付的任何款项,新报业媒体将不予以退款。

15.3 订户可以在最低订阅期结束后的任何时间取消你对该配套的订阅。然而,订户同意配套订阅将自动按月或按年(取决于订户选择的付款计划)自动续订,直到订户明确告知我们。订户可通过以下方式,至少提前30天通知来取消订阅:(a)书面邮寄至“SPH Media Ltd,消费者部门,客户服务部,1000 Toa Payoh North Annexe Level 6,News Centre,新加坡318994”; 或(b)拨打我们的客户服务部团队电话6388 3838; 或(c)发送电子邮件至circs@sph.com.sg。如果在终止日期时,订户的最低订阅期尚未到期,则订户还需支付适用的行政、终止或其他费用。除非SPH Media另有说明,否则订户的订阅续订将按照现行订阅条款进行。

16. 除非新报业媒体另有明确说明,否则每位订户只限参与一次促销活动,也不可与其它促销优惠合併使用。平板电脑是与配套一起提供给每位订户,订户不得出售,出租,租赁和/或分销平板电脑。

17. 在任何情况下,与一 (1) 个帐单地址相关联的现有平板电子报配套(包括跨报配套)不得超过两 (2) 个。但是,新报业媒体可全权决定授予上述例外情况。如有任何疑问,请联系新报业媒体客户服务部门。

18. 新报业媒体及其相关服务提供商,将在兑换或交付设备时验证订户的账单地址。如果订户的账单地址与其居住地址证明(如其身份证明文件中所述)不匹配,订户的订阅将被终止,订户将无权兑换该设备。

19. 保修期

19.1 设备制造商提供有关设备的12个月制造商标准产品保修(简称“标准产品保修”),并且要求订户上网 zbsub.sg/warranty 完成在线注册和激活标准产品保修。

19.2 订户的平板电脑在12个月的标准产品保修期(保修的初始日期以兑换日期为准)之内出现任何问题,订户请携带兑换通知书和平板电脑直接送到兑换通知书中所述的三星维修服务中心。若要了解更多关于标准产品保修服务的覆盖范围,请上网 zbsub.sg/warranty 查看。在维修期间,订户可上网 www.zaobao.sg 和同时登录一台智能装置,通过早报应用阅读《联合早报》的内容 。如果设备故障在三星标准维修服务范围之外,则订户需承担与维修或更换平板电脑有关的费用和开支。

19.3 有关标准产品保修事宜,仅限于订户和制造商之间,对于以后发生的设备的变化和故障,新报业媒体将不负担任何责任。同时新报业媒体对于由标准产品保修所造成的任何直接或者间接的投诉、责任、损失、个人损害或者死亡不承担任何责任。

19.4 如果平板电脑丢失或由于其他任何原因希望更换平板电脑,请直接致电 6388 3838 与新报业媒体联系以购买新的平板电脑。 SPHtab应用程序和KNOX程序仅在新报业媒体和/或其授权代理商和服务中心发行的三星平板电脑上适用。新报业媒体和/或其授权代理和服务中心将无法配置通过其他渠道购买的平板电脑,并无法在此类平板电脑上植入SPHtab应用程序和KNOX程序。

20. 订阅此促销配套,即表示您已同意新报业媒体可不定时地修改其隐私政策条款,该条款可在https://corporate.sph.com.sg/legal/sph_privacy.html(简称“隐私政策”)中找到,以及《隐私政策》的条款已被引用在此条款与条件内。

21. 在遵守适用法律的前提下,订阅此配套,即表示您进一步同意:

21.1.  授权新报业媒体和其相关公司有权利在平板中植入KNOX程序,包括但不限于(a)对平板电脑远程进行修改和更改平板的设备界面,图片,音频,编辑内容,图像和/或视频的配置,包括KNOX程序和软件等;(b)远程安装应用程序(包括新报业媒体和其相关公司应用程序和/或其他第三方的应用程序)(c)远程修改和更改平板的壁纸和屏幕图像;并且(d)推送通知或通过订户之平板电脑上的任何其他形式或媒体向订户发送广告,营销信息和其他信息。如果在最短订阅期内您未按时向新报业媒体支付任何款项,则表示您已授权并同意新报业媒体远程锁定您的设备并限制对设备中嵌入的KNOX程序的访问。

21.2. 授权新报业媒体及其相关公司,收集,使用与技术有关,使用情况和其他相关数据或信息,包括但不限于特定系统或硬件标识符以及与您的设备有关的信息,这些数据或信息会以匿名形式定期收集,以便新报业媒体改善平板电子报应用、服务、软件更新、产品支持以及达到隐私政策中规定的目的。

您已经同意在此条款与条规中第20和21段所述的条款,也根据《垃圾邮件控制法》(第311A章),《计算机滥用法》(第50A章)和其他适用法律的规定。除非您另行书面通知,新报业媒体可以不定时更改隐私政策程序,包括隐私政策中可能描述的程序。

22. 新报业媒体及其关联公司对任何损失(包括但不限于任何间接或间接引起的利润损失,业务中断或信息损失),责任,费用,索赔和损失概不负责。由您的设备引起或与之有关的费用,包括但不限于因直接或间接拥有或使用设备而对任何人造成的任何实际或指称的伤害,损害,死亡或其他后果无论是由于违反保修,疏忽,产品缺陷或其他原因而提出索赔,并且无论以何种形式提出此类索赔,除了适用法律无法排除的任何责任(在这种情况下,根据适用法律责任仅限于允许的范围内)之外也概不负责。

23. 新报业媒体可以随时自行决定更改,修改或修订订阅条款与条件,和/或终止或撤回此订阅活动,恕不另行通知。
